RYA Start Windsurfing

This RYA Start Windsurfing Course has been created specifically for those of you that are new to the sport of windsurfing, and is designed to get you on the water using some of the latest, user-friendly windsurfing equipment and to instruct you using the latest RYA coaching techniques.
this two-day course is run over the weekend and is 8 hours in total (broken down into two 4 hour sessions over the two days).
designed for complete beginners, this course introduces the basic elements of windsurfing that will enable you to sail and turn around confidently and safely. The course consists of simulator training, plenty of on-water coaching and some theory.
an RYA logbook and certificate is awarded on completion of the course.
equipment hire is available to those completing this course for personal sailing and improving sessions.

RYA Intermediate; Fastfwd Improver

This RYA Intermediate; Fastwd Improver Course is the first introduction to the unique Fastfwd coaching system and designed for people who have completed a beginners course, and spent some extra time on the water practising but want to further their skills and knowledge.
this two-day course is run over the weekend and is 8 hours in total (broken down into two 4 hour sessions over the two days).
this course will ground you in the basic skills of the fastfwd Formula.
you will become familiar with the five elements of the formula (vision, trim, balance, power and stance) and learn how to apply them in all areas of your windsurfing.
this course focuses on improved stance, getting to grips with the harness, and an introduction to more dynamic transitions like fast tacks, and leaving the beach in style.
students move onto faster boards and performance sails, as well as gaining a greater sense of windsurfing safety.
on completion of the course students receive a comprehensive RYA log book and a Non-planing Certificate, which can be used to record development on future sessions.

This RYA Intermediate; Fastfwd Progession course builds on the Introduction to Fastfwd course and includes the beach start and non-planing carve gybe clinics.
this two-day course is run over the weekend and is 8 hours in total (broken down into two 4 hour sessions over the two days).
on this course we aim to advance the sailor onto the latest wide-style shorts boards (130-160 litres) and more powerful rigs.
using the fastfwd formula we will provide you with all the skills required for handling this equipment in stronger and planing winds.
the course content includes rigging, launching and recovery, harness work, footstraps, power control and planing skills. It also aims to develop your transitions whether it be tacking or the non planing carve gybe.
on completion of these skills a student may obtain a Planing Certificate.

The fastfwd clinic consists of a two-hour coaching session (Sundays only) for anyone with level two or fastfwd skills.
Clinic Covers:
non-planing carve gybe, beachstarts, waterstarts, footstraps, and power control.
these sessions are not assessed, so there is no pass or fail, but are aimed at personal development and tailored to the individuals needs.
comments and feedback can be recorded in the fastfwd logbook.
