The Aqua Sports Trip to Weymouth 2007 was another success...
Aqua Sports members yet again packed their cars and vans for an action filled windsurfing weekend on the 6/7 October this year. Scheduled to coincide with the end of the internationally famous Speed Week, there was doubt and trepidation in the minds of many that this year the wind would not be blowing.
Sam and a few of the members arrived early on the Friday afternoon - the winds were blowing cross on shore and around a force three. This was enough incentive for Chris to rig up and go out practicing all the freestyle tricks that he had picked up on the Dahab...[Read Article]

| T15 event results for Bewl 29th April 2007 inter-club race, and a big congratulations to team Aquanauts on their great results...
Record turn out in the south east... The last thing on my mind as I went through all the preparation checklists and mental notes before this SE Region Inter-club T15 season opener at Bewl was getting in the record books with the largest SE turnout for the first event of the season. Aqua Sports Refurbishment - the up-grade - is underway...
Some may have noticed the works being carried out at Aqua Sports and this week (20 August) our two new cabins are arriving that include new, shower and changing room, a disabled toilet facility and classroom.
These, much needed, new units will provide new shower and changing facilities to replace the aging existing units and additional class space to teach sailing theory etc, and other new activities planned for 2008.
The second stage of our refurbishment, to take place over the winter months, will involve the refitting of the existing units to bring them up to a modern, functional standard. This will include an exterior deck area, to provide a more comfortable environment for all those using our facilities.
Initially we had hoped to start and finish the refurbishment last winter. However, it is now hoped to be completed by February 2008 in time for the new season.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience during this transitional period and look forward to offering superior facilities in 2008.

| K007 takes Aqua Sports 'Around the World'
Summer Solstice late night was a great success with John Hibbard's presentation a fantastic climax to the evening. The stronger wind from earlier in the day had tailed off to a gentle breeze, still plenty for everyone to go out for a play with. By 7.30 p.m. the water was looking pretty busy. Whilst our windsurfers worked hard on their skills, we fired up the barbie and John Hibbard prepared for his evening presentation. As hungry folk derigged and got changed, Stewart got the barbie underway. Soon, there was sausages and burgers for all to consume.
Just before the presentation Andy got the cocktail shaker out and concocted a fantastic 'K007' Martini, fully shaken and definitely not stirred. The 'secret' recipe cannot be revealed and although it was deliciously moreish, we drank sensibly and were soon all seated for the presentation to begin.
John Hibbard is a fantastic narrator and he had us all under his spell as he took us around some of the world's famous and less famous windsurfing spots... each with its own John Hibbard experience story. The evening rounded off with a windsurfing quiz for which we divided into teams. The winning team all received Tushingham t-shirts.
We'd like to thank John Hibbard and Tushingham Sails for a great evening...

Although Sal is very barren, there are few who don’t succumb and fall under its spell without plans to return. Cape Verdeans call this "Sodade", which means yearning…... [Read
