Dinghy Instructor - this comprehensive five-day course (minimum age 16) enables candidates to teach beginners up to Seamanship Skills and Spinnaker courses. Prerequisites include Seamanship Skills and successful completion of the Pre-assessment course.
- Duration: the course runs over 5 full days, usually Monday to Friday.
- How it works: assessment is continuous throughout the week with a final day moderation; training will consist of on water practical sessions, land based simulator work and theory sessions.
- Course aims: you will learn coaching techniques, course management and group control; you will develop your theoretical knowledge, communication and presenting skills.
- Options on completion: successful completion of this course will provide you with a professional qualification enabling you to work in the UK or abroad as a recognised RYA instructor.
- Accommodation: option of free camping on site or low budget farmhouse B&B.

Our Assistant Dinghy Instructor qualification is a centre specific qualification aimed at aimed at anyone 14+ years of age. Primarily a course that trains instructors towards assisting on juniors courses and working with children. However, an assistant will also be able to assist on Start sailing courses. Candidates must have a minimum of Stage 4 or Seamanship Skills sailing ability.
- Duration: the course is run over 2 full days.
- Course aims: this course allows the successful candidate to assist qualified instructors with junior and adult Start Dinghy Sailing courses.
- Options on completion: centre specific - the qualification is only valid in the centre at which the course was taken.

Prerequisites – Candidates must have a minimum of RYA Stage 4 or Seamanship Skills. Candidates may also have 1st aid and RYA powerboat level 2 if old enough but these are optional. (course run on request)

RYA Powerboat Level 2 - this is the equivalent of a powerboat driving licence and is a requirement for instructor qualifications.

- Who is it for? those that wish to qualify as watersports instructors & require a powerboat licence.
- Course aims: this comprehensive theory and practical based course covers the basics of safe boat handling whether planing or close quarters manoeuvring.
- Qualifications: RYA Level 2 powerboating certificate.
- Additional info: courses are programmed according to requirements in conjunction with instructor courses. If booked in conjunction with an instructor course the package price is £155.

RYA Safety Boat Training - this practical course covers the techniques used by powerboat operators in the provision of safety and rescue cover for dinghies, windsurfers and canoes. This course is a must for any instructor with at least one season's experience.
- Duration: this course runs over 2 full days.
- Course aims: It teaches how to recover capsized dinghies and their crew and the methods of recovering windsurfers and canoeists; details methods and good practice for race safety management.
- Qualifications: RYA safety boat certificate.
- Additional info: candidates must hold the RYA powerboat level two award and have at least one year's powerboat handling experience.

First Aid Qualification - first aid courses run monthly (subject to demand) usually over 1 full day from 9.30 am- 5.30 pm.
- Duration: this course runs over 1 full day.
- Course aims: this is a comprehensive RYA certified course that focuses particularly on the 1st aid requirements of a watersports environment.
- it is a prerequisite for all instructor courses.
- Qualifications: the certificate is valid for three years, at which time you will need to attend an update.
