This introduction to dinghy sailing - RYA Start Dinghy Sailing Course - has been created specifically for those of you that are new to the sport of dinghy sailing. The course is designed to get you on the water using modern, single-handed dinghies, and using RYA coaching techniques.
a two-day learn to sail course (12 hours in total broken down into two 6 hour sessions), run every weekend, covering sailing in single-handers and crewed dinghies.

This RYA Basic Skills Course is for those that have completed the Start Dinghy Sailing course, or those with some sailing experience who wish to advance their skills. This course moves on from the level 1 by teaching more advanced techniques in a variety of craft. Here we introduce the all important five essentials - the key to good boat handling.
this two-day course is run over the weekend and is 12 hours in total (broken down into two 6 hour sessions over the two days).
here we ground you in the basic skills of the Five Essentials for sailing - balance, trim, centreboard, sail setting and course made good.
you will also be introduced to more advanced boat handling skills such as towing, man overboard recovery and coming alongside.
this course focuses on getting the best performance from your boat in a variety of conditions.
on completion of the course students receive a Level 2 RYA certificate.

This all new RYA Better Sailing course is on pilot at Aqua Sports. A direct stepping stone from Level 2, here we develop use of the five essentials and introduce new more advanced skills. We give you a taste of seamanship skills, spinnaker sailing and racing.

This RYA Seamanship Skills course builds on the Basic Skills course and includes fine tuning those five essentials and boat handling manoeuvres.
this two-day course is run over the weekend and is 12 hours in total (broken down into two 6 hour sessions over the two days).
on this course we focus the sailor's attention on sailing with a partner as crew and helm in a crew boat.
learn to handle larger boats with main sail and jib.
theoretical knowledge to enable the student to make seamanlike decisions.
the course content includes rigging, launching and recovery, as well as high level skills such as sailing tight circles and sailing rudderless.
this is the pre-requisite skill level for becoming a dinghy instructor.
on completion of these skills a student may receive a seamanship certificate.

RYA Dinghy Sailing with Spinnaker

This course can be taken on completion of RYA Basic skills. The course teaches how to sail a dinghy rigged with an asymmetric spinnaker and some trapezing. Usually run over two two-hour sessions.
